20 COUNTRIES OWN 94% OF OIL

The report states that 20 countries of the world own 94 percent of the hydrocarbon supply, totalling 1.4 trillion barrels. Out of that amount Azeri hydrocarbon supply totals 14 billion barrels (more than 1.9 billion tons).


According to the supply amount countries including Angola (16 billion barrels), Mexico (20 billion barrels) and China (24 billion barrels) outrun Azerbaijan.

Saudi Arabia remains in first place with 289 billion barrels and in last place is Norway with 10 billion barrels reports the news agency Regnum.

THE NEW 7 SISTERS

The “new seven sisters”, or the most influential energy companies from countries outside the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development OCDE, have been identified by the Financial Times Newspaper.

They are Saudi Aramco, Russia’s Gazprom, CNPC of China, NIOC of Iran, Venezuela’s PDVSA, Brazil’s Petrobras and Petronas of Malaysia.

They control almost one-third of the world’s oil and gas production and more than one-third of its total oil and gas reserves. In contrast, the old seven sisters – which shrank to four in the industry consolidation of the 1990s – produce about 10% of the world’s oil and gas and hold just 3% of reserves.

Even so, their integrated status – which means they sell not only oil and gas, but also gasoline, diesel and petrochemicals – push their revenues notably higher than those of the newcomers. This article also said what happen with PEMEX (Mexico) that lost most of their vertical integration and it’s dying because the Mexican government put lots of taxes on the company.

CANTARELL el MEGA yacimiento petrolero de MEXICO

Pues todos los días se habla sobre esta fuente de donde proviene el 56% del presupuesto del gobierno y pues me parece bueno hablar sobre este que ha aportado cerca de 12.500 millones de barriles desde hace 26 años cuando fue descubierto en las costas de Ciudad del Carmen a 85km por un pescador que se apellidaba Cantarell.

Este yacimiento esta dentro los más productivos a nivel mundial ubicándose en la 3era posición, lamentablemente a finales de este año comenzara a declinar su producción actual que es 2 millones 33 mil barriles diarios,

los cálculos indican que la producción será: 2006 será de un millón 905 mil barriles,
en 2007 de un millón 683 mil barriles
y en 2008 de solo un millón 430 mil barriles diarios de crudo

Este complejo es una ciudad en el mar con todos los servicios que hay en tierra, cuenta en total con 190 pozos y desde hace poco se ha estado llevando a cabo un proyecto de inyección de nitrógeno para elevar y recuperar lo mas que se pueda de hidrocarburos.
